StadiumWatch Activity Report: January 2007

Meanwhile StadiumWatch has been busy passing on the fans' ire, and digging deep into the structure and management of the SMC.

Our January activities have brought the Mayor, the chairman of the SMC, (Ian Spowart), the Chief Executive of the SMC, (Andrew Nicholl), and also the DVLT to correspond with StadiumWatch. They now know who we are and what we aim to achieve. Click link below for a full report.

Affirmative Action: Launched in January, to carry on through February

In January StadiumWatch requested "Affirmative Action" by Rovers fans calling for them to avoid putting money into the pockets of the SMC until our aims are fully met. A flyer is available to download from the site to print off and hand out to fellow fans. Your continuing support and solidarity is fundamental to keeping the pressure on the SMC to force them to come to the bargaining table.

Please remain active and pass the message on to fellow fans whom you see using the stadium bars and refreshment serveries. The SMC will be hoping that this action just fizzles out (as it did at Swansea's Liberty Stadium), so they can maintain their indifference to fans' demands.

You will be sure of a being made welcome at the Dome for pre-match drinks, and away fans have been invited there and not to pay the SMC prices.

Please take another look at our aims & objects. If you are in broad agreement and can support StadiumWatch action to achieve these aims then please register. To be credible as an independent user group we need a large membership and be able to take concerted action.
